SNOWMOBILING

Tug Hill Plateau is known for all of it’s winter activities! Tug Hill is snowmobiling country! Hundreds of freshly groomed trails all completed by local Groomer Barns leading to some of the best restaurants!

FOUR-WHEELING/ATV RIDING

Another popular activity that Tug Hill is known for is Four-wheeling, also known as riding ATV’s. Tug Hill has all local back roads that are accessible to ride. Lewis County also issues an ATV permit to ride on certain wooded trails. One activity that is well known on the Tug is the annual Snirt Run! 

HUNTING/FISHING/HIKING

Tug Hill State Forest has several acres for public hunting access with the appropriate license. The Tug is very well known for some of the best hunting, and trapping around. ~ In the heart of Tug Hill you will find small bodies of water for amazing fishing. Pulaski, NY (35 miles from the Cabin) is known for record breaking Salmon fishing! Located 10 miles from Lowville is the Turin Reservoir which is stocked with fish! ~ Lastly we have many hiking trails located all around the Tug Hill! Such as Whitaker Park just outside of Lowville!

VISITING THE THOUSAND ISLANDS

The Thousand Islands is a short trip to visit the famous St. Lawrence River! Clayton, NY is located 40 miles from the cabin, and Alexandria Bay, NY is 48 miles from the cabin. Both of the cities have its perks! Visit downtown including the variety of locally owned restaurants, view the river, and enjoy the scenery! The Antique Boat Museum in Clayton is a must see! ⚓️

TUG HILL STATE FOREST

Tug Hill State Forest is located less than a mile away from the cabin. Shown in the pictures is a map of all the trails which are accessible by snowshoes, cross country skis, or if your lucky the snow will be hard enough to walk on top with boots! 13.2 total miles of trail access! One of the trails leads to an incredible waterfall called Rainbow Falls!
